To cite data, use the recommended citation format indicated by your data provider. Check the dataset and also the website where it was found. Sometimes data producers request that the journal publishing the data be cited instead of the data set itself. If no format is specified, then use a modified book format.
Always note the author, date, title, publisher/distributor and electronic location or Identifier.
