Refworks: Getting Started

This short guide explains how to get started using the brand new RefWorks platform.

“All alumni of subscribing academic institutions will have life-long access to RefWorks. Access will continue to be available to an institution’s alumni as long as that institution subscribes.”--RefWorks website (www.refworks.com)

BRAND NEW REFWORKS USERS

**If you already have an account, skip to the box below to learn how to migrate your reference from the legacy platform to the new platform.**

To create a RefWorks account:

  1. Go to http://refworks.proquest.com and click the “sign up” link.
  2. Fill in your information making sure to use your EASTERN email address (you can’t sign up with @yahoo.com, @gmail.com, etc.).  Using your Eastern email address will identify you in the system as being eligible for a free account.
  3. An email with a link is sent to you in order to complete the registration process. PLEASE CHECK YOUR SPAM/JUNK FOLDER FOR THIS
  4. Once you activate your account, you’ll get access immediately and can get started managing your documents.
