Columbia University launched The Earth Institute in 1995 and have since been collaborating with other centers and institutes to investigate some of the most problematic issues facing human relationships with the planet's natural systems. Underneath the "Research" tab, there are nine foundational research areas including climate, energy, urbanization, and peace and justice, each of which has specific research projects associated with those topics. Under the "Projects" tab, you can find a interactive globe allowing you to pinpoint areas of environmental study. You can also search all projects to learn what work is being done in the field.
